Never miss an opportunity to watch birds fly.

Or, as is the case here, never miss an opportunity to watch a single bird prepare to land, concentrating as if her life depends on it.

Which it does.

Soon enough, summer will give way to autumn, then winter.

We’ll have to bundle up before heading out, then clean off when we return.

So I’m banking photos now that will remind me that life is colourful, and warmth will inevitably return.

One goose trails the rest, honking madly as her mates scramble into the brilliantly sunny sky.

We all want to belong, after all, eyes to the sky as we strive to avoid being left behind.
