Marxist Marmite My eyes can‘t help but Roll off my head when I Think back to that year. 1975? 2016? Like the Helsinki Accords, my Infant recollections of 1975 are Non-binding. A year in which Pol Pot is hailed by some As Liberator – Liberator to those Poor souls at odds with their Last turn on the Wheel of Samsara, perhaps. A year in which Labour, Fulminating against the Capitalist Common Market, Loses the plot, loses the Referendum. 2016 Another year, Another referendum. With a Remain campaign Charitably described as Lacklustre, Citizen Smith of Islington has a Vision for Europe in which He sings the Internationale Shoulder to shoulder with Erich Honecker. No doubt pining for Comecon, Citizen Smith fondly imagines Concluding a barter agreement with Maduro’s Venezuela. That way, Momentum’s elite cadre are guaranteed Avocado toast for breakfast every Morning. In return, the Bolivarian Revolution is Garlanded with jars of Marmite. Dissidents brought in for questioning are Treated to the Marmite Taste Test. Those who find it revolting are forced to Ingest spoonful after spoonful in a Method akin to salt-water torture. Those who find it delectable are sent to a Psych ward where Marmite forms the Mainstay of its token economy, Nurtured and watched over by the Revolutionary Guard’s own Nurse Ratched. ©Jan Peters/Solivagant Wisdom, 2025

Et c'est une très bonne nouvelle. Je ne m'imagine pas abandonnant mes enfants, ma compagne, mes lunettes pour retourner aux champs ou dans un camp de travail defini par le plan.
