Is love as strong as death? #poetrychallenge @jillhturner.bsky.social

Brigite
Flat line - unplugged-Silence
Tears suspended for a second
Momentarily
we all stop breathing too
Then
With our eventual inhalation
With Sadness’s Sigh
It is confimed
She no longer disturbs the air
the tatt into the chat
As we Still must
The her-ness of her
No longer lies there
We take the responsibilily
of carrying the continuity
Of those impressions
The body is left
But the shape of her remains
 In how we travel
How we reach out
What we take in
Like the energy in the universe
The object may be destroyed
But the love deployed in its living
Still Moves
Always Remains

Kangaroos #poetrychallenge @nikic.bsky.social #kangaroos

Kangaroos
In the evolutionary journey
We observe increasing intricacy
(Though do not contuse that for
superiority)
organelle - Single Cell
Amoeba - Algae - Alligator
Fungal, Lichen, Sponge and Fern
With each line and turn
A possible innovation
among the failed Mutations
For the marsupial and Monotreme
A pouch for foetal Jelly bean
So the Joey's OUT
but also IN
Protected within a mothers Pocket
A living leaping Mammalian
locket

The bench #poetrychallenge @acabricky.bsky.social

The Bench
Too yourg for bars
Too poor for pints
Old enough to need escape
a space
 uninterrogated by
parental senses
That place
Is where the bench is
Where emancipatory hormones can let us indulge in seeing a future
That the gatekeepers
Wish to dismiss
And you'll get stoned and pissed
Think polo mints will create a cloak of in visibility
around your Inebration It will be place to sit
and say
We’ll find a way to navigate
be bold
To hold the heaviness of a
broken heart
and the lightness of a kiss

#poetrychallenge tin pan alley @holten.mustangbooks.com

Tin Pan Alley
At the 12 Bar Club
a tricky choice
Do you want to see
The Singers lower body
or go upstairs and see their face
In the bar all Men look like
Roger Daltrey (give or take)
Some Women
Janis Joplin
their dreams leak
Carry into the street
Apparitions of that publishing deal
Remain perpetual
Some offer anarchy as their alibi
"Anything contractual is just shackles Fromm
THE MAN! "
Whistling down Tin Pan alleyThey can hear a window open
"Hey you, young fella
Let me tell ya
That tune
That Song
That ditty
It'll win an Ivor Novello
and the wind Spills a bin and carries
Clefs, crotchets and Quavers ever higher into the sky

#poetrychallenge the loss of that summer feeling @ockenden.com

With climate change
The temperature clings to July readings
As october rolls.
Into the indecency of Christmas lunch publicity

and Halloween trickery
But the shadows accept no restrictions as they stretch
The darkness Says
Not long now until you move the clock
and find in elongated night
A necessary sadness
That arrives without the light

Slate roof #poetrychallenge

Slate
From the quarry
 a Memento Mori
Of geology
brought here on a lorry
 counted out by the curate
Along the battens from the bottom up
On the other side
No Michelangelos
but no more soggy semons it rains or snows

Time #poetrychallenge

There has been no time
without time
What there was before
Still baffles us
The equations on the black board Illustrate sometting too arcane for my limitations
But for now,
another word nonsensical if nothing ticks, We are immersed in it Exhausted
and elated
Depending on where it takes us
Our bodies mark the moment
when we fell
The minute when we cut ourselves
The slowing of tHe reparation
of our cells
We watch it as we
Move
From verse to chorus to middle eight
Middle eight
Wondering when the needle Slides beyond the outro
Listen carefully
be attentive to your time
Do not just lose it
Play with it and in it
Leave a scar upon the
clocks
Be the one who they
say
"And when he died, uncannily, my watch stopped

Moomins on a mission #poetrychallenge

tove, did you know
Your Moomıns Missıon
Would be unending
While other books
Slide inte the shadows
As what was "contemporary"
(Thankfully)
Becames archaic
The Kindness of your curiosity
 The width of your acceptance
The brightness of your
Imagination
Not afraid to question the
winter dark
Leaves your creatvity inked
on Limbs
knitwear , lapel pins
his is not "Just" for children
 I Trust those Still besotted
by a Moomin
