#HomeMadeMusic #PoemsAloud #MusicSky Somewhere in the folk process there’d be a claim I made this song combining Carl Sandburg, Al Jolson, Tampa Red, & The Mississippi Sheiks. Maybe if you’re high you shouldn’t look down, but Carl says you oughta look back. frankhudson.org/2025/04/07/s...

I’m thrilled to get a 2nd Best of the Net nomination from @lothlorienpoetryj.bsky.social & its brilliant editor @stridermarcusjones.bsky.social Congratulations to all the nominees, whose work you can find👇. For #NationalPoetryDay I recorded Prufrock. (The 2 parts are in the thread👇.) Again, I found the value of reading poetry out loud. I’ve known the poem for years. But reading it, taking more note of the epigraph, was a revelation. I met a new Prufrock. I’ll meet another if I read it again #poemsaloud

It’s UK #NationalPoetryDay and here’s “Revery,” a #PoemsAloud musical presentation of a portion of a too narrowly appreciated American poet’s poetry. “I was the summer/I was the autumn” he wrote. frankhudson.org/2026/09/30/a...

Some may know my poem, Double Trouble. It was mainly about the abandoned buildings. I’m also interested in how the bogs haven’t been cultivated since around 2010. youtu.be/GHtj7gwd9Aw?...

In my rough-hewn voice, I sang a little song about insubstantial love from a Shakespeare play. I wrote this playing my little plastic MIDI keyboard simply as I must, enjoying having it sound like reed pump organ. #PoemsAloud

T.S. Eliot was born on this day in 1888. To celebrate, I am reposting my recording of Journey of the Magi, originally posted at the start of Advent in 2025👇 #poemsaloud #poetrycommunity #botd

Waiting for the Barbarians by C.P. Cavafy was shared on here earlier today by Rima I Anabtawi👇. A simply magnificent poem about the complexities of nationhood, colonialism & identity, so relevant for our times. I felt impelled to record it for #poemsaloud #poetrycommunity @rimaanabtawi.bsky.social

What fun, Carmella, carpe diem from Keats the Londoner, Keats the apothecary, who saw in his brother how short life can be, may have sensed his own time would be, so here is in gather ye rosebuds vein.

Worth recording. So here it is. Lines on the Mermaid Tavern by John Keats. Read by me #poemsaloud

Hilary Mantel died on this day in 2022.

Too soon, too soon...

By way of tribute, here’s the brilliant opening of Wolf Hall. Read by me. Writing so poetic in parts that it deserves the label #poemsaloud #dotd #HilaryMantel
