pocket workstation running snappy on a 4th gen intel core i5 laptop from 2013.

testing pocket workstation for 2D games.
pw supports sprites as well as meshes, sprites can be drawn in 3D or 2D space.
been seeing so much FFVII on my timeline I couldn't resist and had to model the frog using pocket workstation.

stress test to keep performance in check.
It's ugly, but gets the job done, I can adjust the sim complexity and see how it performs across different hardware I own.
With dithering enabled, because, why not.

pocket workstation roms should now work from a sharable link:

my sonic clone attempt became a skateboarding game 🫣
The rom is 956kb, everything made in pocket workstation, models, textures, level, animations.
It helped me collect around a dozen bugs. Now my time budget as a game developer is over, time to get back to improving tools.

Animating the slow-walk cycle.
For things like this there's no need of using keyframes, each channel has a special wave cycle associated, when enabled I can simply tweak frequency and amplitude.

randomized palette.
The user has access to a lua file with all the palette colors of every editor exposed, so they can be changed even by code. I made these changes with a fixed offset shift.

Ok I have collisions using the builtin sphere casting function.
Next I will make it switch to ball form.
#pocketworkstation
prepped some level tiles, I'll use the top quads of each tile as a collider.
Lets make a sonic 3D game in #pocketworkstation, wish me luck.
hope this is the start of me showing more of how actual games are made with pocket workstation.
Time to program bouncy ball character physics!
need to test some 3D platforming, might as well have fun in the process

the texture drawing tab in the poly-editor program.
I don't show much texturing because I'm really bad at this, but there are drawing tools for pixel perfect texturing.
I just recently introduced a pixel preview feature (second screen).
