It’s #PloverAppreciationDay so here’s a semipalmated plover trying to look inconspicuous on the beach. Thanks to Massachusetts Audubon, this one is in a protected area to help plovers come back from population declines. #birds #plovers #shorebirds #birdphotography #ECK 🪶

We have plovers nesting next door and boy are they pissed at Russ, the dog, other birds... all natural, of course, and it's only for 3 weeks or so until the chicks are able to follow the parents away.
