We are having one last burst of warmth in New England before fall settles in for good. The bees are making the best of it! My asters are absolutely covered in these pure green sweat bees, Augochlora pura #bugsky #nativebees #savethebees #plantnative

An illustration of why they call them sunchokes. They're so tall, they choke out the sun. This is in my chicken run. They (and the asters) provide cover for the birds. The birds provide the nutrients and humour. #plantnative #pocketprairie #nativerestoration #latesummer #autumn #nature #wildthings

Callicarpa (American beautyberry) showing off its lovely fall berries (which the birds do enjoy!) #plants #berries #PlantNative #NativePlants

#Chicago was recently named the most climate-resilient city in the WORLD, mostly thx to Deep Tunnel. BUT w/the intensity of rain lately, the water can't possibly get there in time. We'll need LOTS more green infrastructure to be truly resilient. #PlantNative blockclubchicago.org/2026/09/22/s...

The New England Asters are in bloom and the bees absolutely love them 🥰
