The bees won’t be checking the calendar, but they will notice the change. 🐝🍂

As shorter days and cooler weather arrive, colonies begin conserving their stores and preparing for winter.

Some worker bees emerging now could still be in the hive next spring.

Summer workers may live for only a few busy weeks, while winter bees can live for several months.
Honeybees don’t hibernate, which is why September hive checks matter.

Bees don’t only live in fields and orchards. 🐝

Castle grounds, city rooftops, hotels, distilleries and office sites can all become home to carefully managed hives.

Where’s the most surprising place you’ve spotted one?

Could your site be next?
