The red maple (*Acer rubrum*) is a large tree native to Quebec, renowned for its spectacular scarlet autumn foliage. It can reach heights of up to 20 meters and features a rounded crown. Its bright red flowers appear in spring, even before the leaves emerge. Pale green in summer, the tree turns brilliant red or orange in the fall. Highly hardy, it adapts well to northern climates and tolerates wetter or poorly drained soils better than the sugar maple. A real beauty! L'érable rouge (*Acer rubrum*) est un grand arbre originaire du Québec, réputé pour son spectaculaire feuillage automnal écarlate. Il peut atteindre jusqu'à 20 mètres de hauteur et présente une cime arrondie. Ses fleurs d'un rouge vif apparaissent au printemps, avant même l'éclosion des feuilles. D'un vert pâle en été, l'arbre se pare d'un rouge éclatant ou d'orange à l'automne. Très rustique, il s'adapte bien aux climats nordiques et tolère mieux les sols humides ou mal drainés que l'érable à sucre. Une véritable merveille !
