Fuck it, last day of #PhaideiWeek so I may as well share a snippet from one of my drafts as a way to say thank you to the ship that got me dedicated to writing again

One of my favorite sections that I've written so far. Just wholesome waking up together after some time apart

The all too familiar head of soft, snowy white hair finally began to stir, and drowsy hums vibrated against Mydei's chest. That peaceful face nuzzled into the soft flesh of his pectorals, the familiarity seeming to help rouse him further. Soon, his eyelids fluttered open, his eyelashes tickling the prince's skin, and those bright, beautiful blue eyes finally revealed themselves, and lazily drifted upwards to greet the man he rested on. Upon meeting the gaze of the prince beneath him, the sweetest sleepy smile graced his face. "Hmmm... So, yesterday wasn't just a dream after all. ...Unless I'm still dreaming right now. If I am, don't wake me up..." Phainon let out a blissfully content sigh and closed his eyes once more as he went back to burying his face into Mydei's chest. The man could only scoff with a chuckle at his love's cheesy choice of words and shameless snuggling. "Are you saying you have dreams where you just bury yourself into my chest?" "Mayyybe~" Phainon playfully purred. "Amongst other areas, of course. But can you blame me? This incredible body of yours is the stuff of dreams."As if to prove his point, Phainon began to lightly trace his fingers along the contours and tattoos of Mydei's body. Simple, delicate little touches... they felt so nice. The prince rolled his eyes and planned to continue the playful banter by calling out Phainon's shamelessness... But he couldn't bring himself to tease his Deliverer further in the moment. Not even a simple mutter of the usual HKS nickname. So many daily habits and rituals were put on hold when Phainon left, and Mydei dearly missed every single one of them. Especially this one. Starting the day with sleepy smiles and drowsy nonsense conversations, gently touching and snuggling up to each other while they slowly let themselves wake up. No worries. No duties. No rush. Just a peaceful moment of time reserved for the two of them. It was such a perfect start to the day. Finally getting to experience it again, Mydei wondered how he ever survived for a week without this. And did Phainon miss it just as much as he did? Surely he did, clingy as he was. Looking at the man now, contentedly snuggling into his prince's soft chest with blissful little sighs and hums, there was no doubt.Mydei brought his hand to Phainon's head, carding his fingers through soft white locks. Phainon accepted the touch with a happy hum, his sleepy smile growing bright enough to light the entire village, if not all of Amphoreus itself. He looked back to Mydei, and though he was still too tired to open his eyes fully, that half lidded gaze still held such an intense and genuine light, overflowing with a deeply sincere message meant solely for his beloved prince. I love you. Mydei breathed a contented sigh of his own now, smiling softly as he slowly blinked his eyes, a gesture given only to his dear Deliverer, reciprocating his feelings and mirroring his message. I love you, too. The message was clearly received, as Phainon chuckled with a giddy grin and resumed snuggling into Mydei's chest. The prince's smile grew as he continued to stroke his love's hair. They both stayed like that for a long while, not even bothering to care how much time passed or if they even drifted back to sleep for a moment or two. It didn't matter. They finally had their mornings together again. For this moment in time, in this little sanctuary for two, everything was as it should be. It was perfect.
