Wouldn't exactly say it's a favourite but I suspect I spent enough time listening to this while in the phone queue it warrants an entry!
Warning - still not great despite (because of?) being autotuned to within an inch of its life!

Frank Turner - Get Better
So try and get better and don't ever accept less.
Take a plain black marker and write this on your chest:
Draw a line underneath all of this unhappiness,
Come on now let's fix this mess.
We can get better, because we're not dead […]

For a guy who's 14 years younger than me, Frank Turner doesn't half write a lot of songs that seem to speak to my stage in life!

But in the stillness of the moment it takes for a polaroid picture

🎹 It was 1975. My beloved funk was integrating into my new obsession, jazz. Then Earth Wind & Fire teamed up with Ramsey Lewis. Glorious.
🔊 Three years later my college chums and I packed into a small dorm room with two towering speakers, turned out the […]
@bridgetimelapses.bsky.socialMy personal playlist for the hour the car gave up on Peberholm: Blue Deer Studio, then Jeremy Black. A perfect track, a very wrong car. New timelapse uploaded: 🚧 Stopped vehicle on Öresund Bridge Pylon East — 2026-09-18 #PylonEast #personalplaylist
@joncounts.mastodon.nz.ap.brid.gyThe music I find most powerful is the music that I don’t understand and briefly transports me to some bigger, different place.
For the #PersonalPlaylist theme for #JukeboxFridayNight here’s an old example of a song I keep coming back to when I need to shove my brain away from normal: “Maze” by […]

I have no idea if that is what the song is even about, but this song has helped me with many a stressful situation and always comes to mind with the relief when that situation ends

Driving along with this playing not long after our eldest had graduated from the neo-nates ICU, and when that chorus hit so did a lot of pent up emotion. It had been a ride :)
Also one of my favourite Shihad videos and the band themselves aren't even in it […]
@carey.mastodon.nz.ap.brid.gyI sang along to this so much after it came out that for a while I could beat the kids at it on Wii Sing. Those days are long gone, though.

Even we Bicyclists like to "get around" like we're somebody Special. I am vested more in my Music than my Transport.

In the winter (appropriately) of 1992 Tori Amos' Winter came out and it was like nothing I'd ever heard on the radio before (91ZM was a bit different back then). It wasn't until early 1994 that I finally picked up a copy of Little Earthquakes, and heard […]

Thinking of my "personal" playlist with over 300 songs on it, or the 40+ mix tapes and CD's I've made over the years or the 500+ CD's and tapes in my house, which may still be rookie numbers compared to some, but still we could be here for a while even if […]
@debe.mastodon.nz.ap.brid.gyThat time my family went to visit my in-laws and I stayed home with the animals, and had a private party and went through a floorboard in our lounge*. LOL.

I have often described Babylon 5 as my One True Love, fandom-wise and this particular early music video is one I always closely associate with those heady days of early online 90s fandom. Have to admit, I'd be hard pushed to name another song by this band! […]
