She aims to draw attention to the importance of remembering the past. Following the musical performance, Prof. Dr Margo Okazawa-Rey will give a lecture in English. Entitled ‘Military Sexual Slavery and Violence: Same Old Patriarchal Game Plan’ (German: Sexual enslavement and violence in the military: Always the Same Patriarchal Game Plan), she will shed light on the exploitation of women and sexualised violence against women by US military personnel stationed in the region. She will also highlight the connection and continuity of the ‘comfort women’ system right up to the present day. Translation into German will be provided.
