Headed out for some #ParksOnTheAir yesterday... Got set up by 15:55Z, and hunted my first park at 16:00Z. Seven hours later, it was time to pack it up with 228 QSOs in the log.

38 states plus Canada and St. Helena.

Soon ...

A green field with an antenna strung between two yellow poles.
In the shelter in the distance is the grey ham pod.

Bonus mid-setup photo!

A view into the ham pod mid-setup.
The blue mat is on the floor of the pod.
To the left is the wooden stand with the shack-onna-stick.
On the wooden stand is a green box with black handles.
It is the power-related bits.
To the right of the stand is a very large LiFePO4 battery.
You can see a red power switch sitting atop the battery.
On the blue mat is the little white table, assemble, but upside-down.
Looking past the radio, through the vinyl window, there is a blue chair.

Aw yeah. So nice to get out for some #ParksOnTheAir again; I haven't really been out since December. Went to a familiar old park and hunted my first park-to-park by 17:24Z. Bands weren't great, so I packed it in at 19:40Z with only 70 contacts.

A big thank you to the 24 park-to-park operators!

Gone is the radio box.
Instead, there is a pole rising from behind the table, to which the radio and computer screen are attached.
On the table is a Raspberry Pi and a wide-screen monitor mid-boot.A grassy area inside a park with a picnic table.
In the foreground is a red post to which a blue cord is attached.
Next to the red post is a coil of grey coaxial cable.
The blue cord leads to the top of a yellow pole in the near distance.
In the far distance is another yellow pole, and beyond that is another red post, mostly obscured.
To the right is a roadway, where you can see a blue vehicle parked.
You can just see the top of the grey ham pod peeking above the hood of the vehicle.

A still from yesterday's (failed, but I don't care, I had fun) activation of DE0032. Finally got the chance of trying the vertical antenna. #pota #parksontheair #hamradio
