Testing the finished cutout against the background and the rest of the motif - I'll cut away the parts of the motif inside the cat space during final assembly.

Pics from my cutting session yesterday. Tipp for people getting into paper cutting - leave the more delicate parts for last, otherwise they can easily be ripped off or folded by accident while working.

Just been cutting out my cat card stuff for two hours and I'm beat 😅 gonna post some pics tomorrow, for now just me abusing the lower part of the cat thing as a makeshift lady's fan 🤭

Today we take a break from books to present this beautiful, early 19th-century octagonal #teacaddy, distinguished by four highly detailed cut-paper dioramas, demonstrating remarkable skill in the cutting and layering of paper. Attributed to Cornelis Bavelaar (1747-1830).
