Foreshadowing the #PalmerRaids, the #Wilson administration unleashed, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1917, a set of 48 coördinated raids on #socialist offices across the country, targeting the #IWW in particular. They seized records, destroyed books, and arrested hundreds of activists.
