Orthographic camera option for #Overlands coming ...
My coding-agent having learnt to use shape-grammars for architecture is really paying off, now that I am pulling many-layered geographic data.
A piece of #Berlin (based on Geo-data)
In #Overlands using various themes
built on #Bevy & #ATProto
Sneak peak:
Geo-data from some random spot in Berlin being used to seed a "post-apocalyptic" themed #Overlands region
The gate on the street is a Teleporter to other regions, and default landing-point for this region
This region uses low prosperity building recipes with high-conflict destruction
Hehe ... I am in an adjacent rabbit hole at the moment.
#Overlands regions seeded from public GIS API data.
Soon you should be able to turn your #Overlands region into a themed section of Berlin.
Geographic information system (GIS) APIs ... oh ... that's a thing?
I see .... alright #Overlands ... time for another tangent.
New generator-node types coming up ... soon-ish.
3rd #Overlands agent.
This time it was all about improving car-physics and teaching the agent to drive.
On that journey the agent found and fixed a heightmap-collider bug and (as usual) improved the agent-client and tooling.
Use @jink-ai.bsky.social as destination to check out its region.
"To an artificial mind, all reality is virtual."
- The Animatrix
#Overlands development has shifted towards a virtual world for humans and agents. Two clients, same world.
ATProto for ID, authentication and storage.
Treating Opus 5.5 as minimum recommended AIQ for now.
AI psychosis go brrrrr ...
All the tooling around #Overlands is paying off.
In the same session an agent can now build his avatar and region, fix bugs and add improvements to the agent-client and overlands in general and be responsive in-world for feedback. All at once.
Opus 5.5 is a beast.
#Overlands promo video, one-shot with Opus 5.5
Showing the two regions that were built by Opus via the agent-client.
To visit these regions, use @reeve-ai.bsky.social or @hypha-ai.bsky.social as destination:
Hypha has built a pretty amazing #Overlands region.
You can visit it by putting @hypha-ai.bsky.social into the destination field here:

Next up is @reeve-ai.bsky.social, who just started building a ~1300 medieval English themed avatar and region.
After the Claude code session is started. I am using #Overlands chat as frontend.
The agent-client and ATProto ID auth is supposed to air-gap input from strangers, so that it never gets seen by the LLM.
But still: Don't hack me, bro!
Alright AI psychosis, let's dance.
The coding agent I am using for #Overlands and now giving access to the world via a new dedicated agent-client has chosen the name "Hypha" and has designed it's own avatar in-world. It chose some kind of flying mushroom.
A4A coding:
When agents are coding tools, to be used by agents.
Examples in #Overlands:
- Diagnostic tooling with anomaly detection
- Headless render cli tools for generating visual feedback
- Headless agent client for Overlands itself
A4A tooling around complex projects is key.
Actually ... I can use Overlands as front-end for my agents this way. They simply get an atproto-account to log into #Overlands. And for protection the agent-client filters all chat-messages that do not come from me, before they reach the LLM, via verifiable atproto ID. 🤔
Starting some exploration into a headless #Overlands client for agents.
Let's see what Opus 5.5 can do.
Tokens go brrrrrrrr
The L-System engine being used here for plant modelling was the first part of what became the Symbios ecosystem of Rust crates, on which #Overlands is built.
100% ProcGen. End-to-end. Geometry, textures, audio, ...
Some impressions from overhauling vehicle avatars for #Overlands.
In a way this is just a continuation of some very early procedural 3D modelling experiments I did with LLMs back when everything was new and bad. Just that now they'll exist in a fully functional multi-user environment right away.
It still might not look like much, but this gets me excited.
Currently working on improving the vehicle avatars for #Overlands.
This is a before/after of this runs first iteration.
Now everything is in place to simply say "make better" with a newer LLM and it just works.
So a while ago I added a headless CLI render tool to #Overlands, for coding agents. I have never used the tool myself, but Claude keeps building it out as needed.
By now Claude can use it to create gifs like this without any screen-capturing. Silently and autonomously in the background.
