Oh, look.

The State Department DOES have a copy of the #OuterSpaceTreaty (and *all* U.S. treaties, btw).

Unfortunately, the link to it goes nowhere.

Rubio, a lawyer👀, had a DUTY to PREVENT the Trump Administration's #WillfulViolation.

🤔Time to #ImpeachLittleMarco, for his #DerelictionOfDuty.

"Ryabkov was commenting after U.S. acknowledged this week that the Pentagon is operating weapons in Earth's orbit, a landmark moment in the militarisation of space."

🚩U.S. signed the #OuterSpaceTreaty, too.

🚩Which Rubio should have advised Trump & Hegseth on.

🚩It's still active & covers this‼️

"Russia believes there is still time to prevent an arms race in space by drawing up a legally-binding international treaty to outlaw deployment of offensive ‌weapons there and called on the U.S. & other nations to set aside scepticism about the idea..."

🚩There is.
🚩RU signed it. #OuterSpaceTreaty

That, like Trump putting weapons of mass destruction into space, would be a blatant violation of the #OuterSpaceTreaty, to which U.S. was an original signatory.

U.S. agreed:

🚩"the Moon and other celestial bodies shall be used exclusively for peaceful purposes"

Hereby moving, once again, for an International treaty on #ArtificialIntelligence / #ai...

And, it took about 30 mins this afternoon to make a second pass at actually drafting it…

<Spoiler alert: Adapted from the #OuterSpaceTreaty.>

What follows is for your reading enjoyment and perhaps more…

This is totally against the Outer Space Treaty of 1967. We signed it, and so did Russia and China. It says that outer space and celestial bodies are not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, use, occupation, or any other means.
