Simple and stylish covers from 1964 Ordnance Survey maps of Ancient Britain. Dun Carloway broch on the Isle of Lewis on the northern sheet, a Stonehenge trilithon the southern. Then the sites on the maps themselves, Stonehenge in a crowded part of Wiltshire #maps #ordnancesurvey @bodleian.ox.ac.uk

Any #OSMaps app users out there who know how to display preset ‘Places’ (like Munros & Wainwrights) on the *Mobile* version?

I can do it on the desktop version, but am totally stumped with the mobile app.

🌡️This gripping article from #OrdnanceSurvey explores the current and future risks posed by the #urbanheatislandeffect. Integrating #naturebasedsolutions is a cost-effective way to mitigate these risks, benefit biodiversity, and deliver #ecosystemservices.

@jonpsp I get #What3Words locations from my local wildlife group, but very rarely an #OrdnanceSurvey grid reference which I'd find far more useful.

The #OrdnanceSurvey #OSMaps app is really good.
But it could be so much better.
It needs a 'broken line' option for plotted routes.
Using the 'Snap-To' function, your route obscures the underlying details. Is it a Road? Footpath? Track?
The limited colour palette means it can resemble a main road!

A 1:25,000 scale map on the Ordnance Survey OSMap app showing how the only red option for a self-plotted track is a solid line that can resemble a main road, and also obscure much of the path, road or track details beneath it.

Did this study include data on the warming effects of vehicles both static and in motion, radiating heat? #OrdnanceSurvey @metoffice.gov.uk
