This aggregating #anemobe is an absolute color party. Also kinda looks like an eye with crazy eyelashes. #TidesOutTuesday #Beach #TidePooling #PNW #ORcoast #Abstractia #Eyes #Macro #Photography #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #YouMatter

Macro shot of half of a very colorful aggregating anemone emerging from the sand in a tide pool on the Oregon Coast. Its base is a bumpy olive green, the tentacles are a riot of mint green, pale yellow, and magenta. A layer of sand rests in the middle, but the central mouth area is visible, and has stripes radiating out from the center in the same light olive and mint green colors that are on the outside parts.

These fabulous big basaltic #rocks just off the coast are important nesting sites for sea birds. #CapeMeares #ORCoast #PacificOcean #PNW #RockinTuesday #TidesOutTuesday #ECK #NatureIsArt #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

A large basaltic mini-island just off the coast of Cape Meares sits in the Pacific Ocean on the northern Oregon coast. It’s dark with seaweed and probably mussels along the water’s edge, and then streaked with gray, brownish green and white going up the sides. On the rugged, domed top, hundreds of sea birds like cormorants tend their nests. You can even hear their calls above the wind. Dark green Sitka spruce boughs poke out from the right and left sides of the picture from where I’m taking the shot on the mainland. The ambient light is cloudy.

Can you see my little friend jammed into the #rocks here? It’s probably a striped shore #crab, if my #iNaturalist choice is right. #TidesOutTuesday #RockinTuesday #Macro #Photography #Wildlife #ORCoast #TidePooling #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #YouMatter

A tiny striped shore crab, about 3 centimeters across, is jammed into a crack in the basaltic rocks on the ocean side of Proposal Rock on the beach at Neskowin State Park along the Oregon Coast. Its eyes are black, its claw tips are kind of lavender, but turn a mottled spring green and maroon as they go up to the rest of its body, which is also those colors. A couple of cream-colored barnacles are attached to the rock on either side, as well as some very tiny baby barnacles growing on the “roof” of this rock crevice.

A tiny demonstration of how waterproof seagull #feathers are. #Dewdrops #Beach #PNW #ORCoast #Macro #Photography #Monochrome #ClassicMono #BNWmacro #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #YouMatter

A monochrome, macro shot of a seagull (I assume) feather on the beach sand. The feather is white, and it’s covered in tiny crystal dewdrops as it lies on the dark grainy, gray sand of the beach.

The horizon disappears in the #fog as a line of huge #basaltic #rocks juts out into the #sea. #RockinTuesday #TidesOutTuesday #ORCoast #PacificOcean #CapeMeares #NatureIsArt #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

A dense fog above the Pacific Ocean lifts just enough for the viewer to see a black basaltic headland and several sharp, black, chunky sea stacks jutting out into the sea, indicating that the headland used to be longer, but the waves have had their way with the rest of it over the centuries. White foam collects around the rocks, and the dark blue water has a rough texture.

Two brown #pelicans decided to photobomb as I was training my camera on the fishing boat. #Birds #Boats #ORCoast #PacificOcean #Overcast #PNW #ECK #TidesOutTuesday #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #KeepGoing

A picture of a fishing boat on the Pacific Ocean near the central Oregon coast on a very foggy, overcast mornings the waves are choppy and a darker gray than the flat gray sky. The only color is the bright orange buoys on the side of the boat, which is facing left here. Two brown pelicans fly in on the top right, above the boat. They mostly look dark gray or silhouetted.

Not quite sure what sort of #anemone this is. Checked #iNaturalist and couldn’t choose, but I’d guess it’s in the genus Anthopleura. #TidesOutTuesday #PacificOcean #ORCoast #TidePooling #Macro #Nature #Photography #PNW #ECK #GoOutside #Breathe #Notice #Don’tGiveUp

A very pale, cream-colored anemone in a dark, sand-filled tide pool.
