New #Orbat breakdown: The evolution of the Moroccan Goumiers during WWII - These irregulars became a key part of the Fighting French Forces in Tunisia, Sicily, Corsica, Italy, France and Germany - and then in Indochina.

The majority of GRDI and GRCA were not fully motorized, and would usually have one or two mounted squadrons. Here's an #orbat.

These men were armed with either the 8mm Berthier or 7.5mm MAS 36. Each éclaireur section had a VB rifle grenade launcher.

Continuing my digging on the 1939-40 cavalry recon groups (GRCA and GRDI) for wiki work. Created some #orbat diagrams of their components:

Here a motorcycle fusilier squadron: 4 platoons of 26 cavaliers each, plus a 60mm mortar, mounted on sidecars.
