This was photographed in Calgary in June 2025. The main subject was labelled as Opuntia polyacantha 'Colorado Red' but apparently it's really a form of O. chymochila so it probably isn't hardy here. It's clearly growing a lot of new pads but I've never had it flower.

Several potted cacti on a deck. The central plant is a very spiny, sprawling, small prickly pear.

Opuntia basilaris 'Nunn' starting to grow on my deck in June 2025. I suspect this is really an O. aurea. Has anybody tried growing it outdoors all year in Calgary?

A small, sprawling prickly pear growing in a pot. There are a few clusters of rudimentary leaves where it's starting to grow.

Plants on my rockery in June 2025. Left: #Opuntia fragilis (spineless form). Top middle: O. 'Claude Arno'. Top right: O. polyacantha. Center: #Sempervivum ciliosum var. borisii. Lower left S. arachnoideum 'Minus'.

A photo of part of a rockery. In the middle, there's a clump of light, green, hairy rosettes, a couple of them growing inflorescences. There are also some small prickly pears and a plant with very small rosettes that look as if they're covered in spider webs.
