#Hokum : Mixed bag, as usual with McCarthy's movies. I enjoyed the vibe, I didn't care much for the pacing or the narrative. 3/6

#Exit8 : a fun, enjoyable watch. Never played the video game, but the smartly used timeloop works well : the movie is short, dynamic & punchy, despite a slightly less successful final stretch. 4/6
#Obsession : Eh, it was alright, I guess. More or less an extended Tales from the Crypt-type episode, that instantly goes full throttle into the obsession and craziness, and stays there. A bit repetitive, tbh. 3/6
#Backrooms : let's just say that, despite all the critical praise, this one was not for me. Liminal horror is very hit or miss, IMO, and overall this left me cold, but it's a nice effort nonetheless. 2.75/6
#ForbiddenFruits : this Diablo Cody-produced movie tries very hard to become a campy cult classic, and wears its influences on its sleeve, but it just ends up annoying and very forced. Not my cup of tea. 1.5/6
#Hive : "It" by way of "Goosebumps" for Tubi, with a limited budget & an added subtext on immigration/integration. It's not bad, per se, but it really just feels like a tv movie too ambitious for its own good. 2.5/6
#SendHelp : Nothing groundbreaking, but an entertaining Sam Raimi-directed dark comedy, that just never quite reaches its full potential. McAdams is great, as usual. 3.75/6
#TheEmptyMan : Too long + a bit uneven, but an interesting half-cosmic #horror, half-creepypasta movie nonetheless. Sometimes a bit too obvious & predictable, but there are some very nice moments here and there. 3.75/6
#IronLung : Didn't expect much from Markiplier's debut but it was a solid first go at it, half cosmic horror, half tense, claustrophobic chamber piece, with interesting world building.
Not perfect, though. 4/6
#Slanted : a fairly toothless satire, between #MeanGirls, #TheSubstance and #Carrie, but with the depth of a #AreYouAfraidoftheDark episode. Per se, the movie's fine, but I expected smth less superficial. 2/6
#Nightborn : one of those "devil-child/changeling" horror movies that act as a metaphor for pregnancy, motherhood & post-partum, this time from Finland. Didn't quite work for me, the vibe sometimes felt off. 2.5/6
#LeeCroninsTheMummy : very uneven - starts interesting, switches to being a Temu Exorcist/Evil Dead & freewheels to a disappointing, flat ending. 2+ hours is too much. 3/6
#TheyWillKillYou : An amusing #horror #comedy #thriller #action movie, full of excentric ideas, but one that doesn't quite manage to stay fun and interesting all the way. Too bad. 3/6
#ScaryMovie 2026 : a lazy, uninspired parody of recent movie successes, with stoner humor, dated jokes + some mediocre anti-woke bits. The usual SM recipe, really, except everyone is older and tired. 1.75/6
#OverYourDeadBody : a weird mismatch of tones and acting styles, at times shouty and over-the-top, violent and sadistic, or comedic and awkward. Didn't quite convince me, despite a likeable cast. 3/6
#TheHighestStakes : an okayish Tales from the Crypt-esque STV w/ familiar tv faces playing poker with the devil. It's a bit rough & predictable, sometimes awkward & gratuitous, but it's watchable. 2.75/6
