this poem isnt about anybody. I'm just writing from that perspective.

Most #offended by misogyny
such toxic masculinity
here's a wee quote of old
a message that still holds

Ginger Rogers danced every step
as old Fred what's his name
although backwards and in high heels
for half of the acclaim

We invited her
but she acts #offended
because one
of the other guests
insulted her
forty years ago
and she had never
forgotten that slight
The party goes as planned
she missed out
on a very good time

Too many insults on the horizon
I feel I should live in the shelter of a cave
a deep well to serve my needs
and a small stretch of land
well cultivated
because when words start to hurt
there is no going back

To be kind or rude
will elicit mixed results.
Let us all be nice.

The whole world rightly
Offended, rapists running
Free and defended.

My heart was offended that I didn't understand.
Deciding to teach me a lesson while traveling.
I could feel offended but I applaud the Universe for giving me another chance.
