For my talk to the conference on #oeconomianaturalis in Paris this Thursday and Friday, I am working on some texts on #oeconomiaanimalis in Van Hogelande (an understudied but fascinating work), Craanen and van Broechuysen -- Cartesianism did discuss the organicity of nature in a mechanical way!

October 15-16 in Paris to discuss #oeconomianaturalis #oeconomy - with an amazing group of scholars, and very happy to share my thoughts on Descartes's proto-ecology, Cartesian scholars, and some 17th-century naturalists discussing plants #Descartes #ecology #histsci #environmentalhistory #envhist
