For the fifth time in seven matches, San Antonio FC played to a scoreless draw, this time away to Oakland Roots SC even though both sides were awarded a penalty, inching SAFC closer to the playoffs in unremarkable fashion. #OAKvSA #Defend210 bluishmoonblog.wordpress.com/2026/10/10/o...

Roots 0-0 SAFC (FT)
No goals despite a penalty apiece, both teams had good chances but neither could convert...draw is better for SAFC but still not great, two matches to go. #OAKvSA

Wilson's PK is stopped by Batrouni but Oakland puts home the rebound. The goal is wiped off due to encroachment from Roots. What a wild sequence. #OAKvSA

O'Connor-Ward earned what seemed like a questionable PK at one end earlier before conceding one in his own box...Wilson's PK is saved then put in on the rebound from de Vicente, but he encroached on the penalty and the sequence is over. #OAKvSA

Relatively light contact after seeing the replay but SAFC earns a penalty, Maldonado steps up but it's a good height for McIntosh to parry...still scoreless, SAFC couldn't buy a goal, it's honestly comical at this point 🤡 #OAKvSA

HT: OAK 0-0 SAFC

No score, but Oakland has been the better side through the opening half. San Antonio has made mistakes, but not been punished for it. They'll need to play better if they want all three points. #OAKvSA

Roots 0-0 SAFC (HT)
No goals to speak of yet but the Roots have easily had the better share of chances, a fair number coming from SAFC making mistakes at the back and, luckily for them, not being punished. #OAKvSA

Lilian Ricol given a yellow card for simulation as he's trying to latch onto a through ball and earn a penalty headed away from goal but goes down too easily...SAFC's offense is trying to get a goal by fair means or foul right now and it still isn't happening 🙃 #OAKvSA

Oakland has a solid scoring chance, but their shot goes wide of the net. SAFC catches a break there. #OAKvSA

San Antonio FC and Oakland are underway in California. I'll have coverage of #OAKvSA for @lonestarsj.com

San Antonio FC's injury report came out just before the lineup, Nicky Hernandez and Andres Paredes were added after coming off during last week's match, nobody comes off the list. #OAKvSA #Defend210

Nelson Flores Blanco and Emil Cuello both in the lineup for San Antonio FC tonight, the latter likely getting pushed into midfield rather than as a wing back - he often tucks in there anyway - and Lilian Ricol also gets the start up top. #OAKvSA #Defend210

With three matches left in the regular season, San Antonio FC is trying to rediscover something called a "goal" as it hopes to at least stave off one of the teams trying to overtake it for the final playoff place. #OAKvSA #Defend210 bluishmoonblog.wordpress.com/2026/10/08/o...

ICYMI, San Antonio FC will play its last away match of the regular season tomorrow, trying to keep Oakland Roots SC from gaining ground in the playoff race despite SAFC's questionable form as of late.
My preview of #OAKvSA below. #Defend210

San Antonio FC once again travels west to stave off one of the teams trying to catch up to it for a playoff beeth, and this time it sounds more serious about getting what it needs - but the Roots will be fighting for their lives. #OAKvSA #Defend210 bluishmoonblog.wordpress.com/2026/10/08/o...
