Out early enough with Charlie to catch the sunset framed in the train lines. A steel frame for a vortex of yellow light at the centre of the pink and purple clouds. The green grass of the embankment by the shared use bike path and walkway. Cool air. Magpies doing their thing, warbling like a casio keyboard with the battery running down. Alannah's on camp and Jess is visiting her mum. I'm thinking about an interview I have tomorrow, wondering whether it's a good idea to change schools. There's one more week left in Term 3 and then Alannah and I are going to Ireland. Petals are falling from the magnolia trees and the Japanese Maple is just beginning to leaf.
