Really short on time (and honestly, energy) today but had to "squash" in some harvesting.
I'm here all week.

We say #nodig here but it's amazing!
Time to turn the end of summer compost into the middle bin. I can't get the heat high enough to kill the weeds so I use it for mulching the orchard trees, not for the beds.
It looks like a big cake!
Always the same veg because that's what I grow and I like what I grow. Ah! But the variety of meals! This time, its lasagne! Who else got wet getting a carrot in the field today?
Just looking at old fotos 📸
Took on #allotment & rotovated it once (in March '14). It became a sea of annual weed seedlings.
By late July '14, we were growing a lot of food but we spent hours! weeding.
In '26, 2 plots now, weeding is 10 mins/wk #nodig maybe our harvests 🌱 are less? more diverse?
I note the vegetables stop growing before the weeds.
Seed saving! Hopefully they'll all be viable next year. The cabbages are amazing and that celery was prolific.
Hello!
It's cabbage season!
Cabbage is vegan. Even when eaten raw.
Summer is apparently over. I've spare lettuce, spinach and beetroot that will fill blank spaces in the beds and do ok over winter. Also last chance to direct sow onion seeds but it's much too windy!
It's amazing how fast some seeds grow - even at thistime of year.
I put out bird seed half an hour ago and there's already birds in the garden.
Rough chopped veg from the garden, ready for roasting.
