I don’t picture Garbo as the “girl-chat” kind of woman, but I like to imagine that she & Ina Claire got together on this set to dish about John Gilbert.
Ina was Gilbert’s 3rd wife from 1929-31 and we all know about Gilbert & Garbo.

Melvyn Douglas was hearthrob in his day. Up there with Frederic March and Warren William. Of course I never saw him until much later in his life. He was in a #TheCandidate clone, the #SeductionOfJoeTynan, playing an older Senator who is losing it but won't retire.

I was forced, very much against my will, I assure you, to miss almost all of Greta Garbo day. I got home in time for the second half of #Ninotchka, always a delight, and all of #TwoFacedWoman, always a why, God, why. #TCMParty

An Ernst Lubitsch directed film with a Billy Wilder/Charles Brackett script. This movie couldn't have failed if I were starring in it.
