Walter Koroshetz’s work across clinical care, research, and national leadership has given him a wide-ranging perspective on advances in neuroscience, as well as the societal questions surrounding emerging neurotechnologies.
New tools are increasingly driving advances in neuroscience, with some already moving from research into patient care. Closed-loop stimulation devices, for example, are helping patients with conditions including Parkinson’s disease and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
#ICYMI: Walter Koroshetz joins Caroline Montojo on NeuroSociety Stories to reflect on the evolution of neuroscience over his career and the emerging #neurotechnologies that hold great promise for treating neurological conditions while raising important ethical and societal questions. #neurosociety
How is climate change reshaping brain health? This report from The Neuro Climate Working Group compiles data from more than 50 global experts on how climate affects our brains, and points to how policy can support human-well being.
In this @statnews.com op-ed, Dana Foundation President Caroline Montojo and Greenwall Foundation President Michelle Groman highlight projects their foundations are funding to explore the many factors that shape trust in science and how it can be built and sustained.
The Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) spent a year asking its community what they wanted to know about brain health. Then it built its programs around the answers and held three events using a human-centered design approach.
(1/2) The iBCI-CC is a collaborative community of diverse stakeholders that address challenges in the development, safety and efficacy evaluation, and access to implantable brain-computer interfaces (iBCIs). Check our their new video explaining their work.
Dana Foundation President Caroline Montojo explores how federal funding enables discovery and why collaboration among government, philanthropy, researchers, and communities is key to turning scientific progress into public benefit.
