We can finally share LEMON (Layered Extraction of Molecular Ordering from Nature), a compact 200M-parameter model for detection of remote homologs powered by ZEST (Zoned Encoding of Sequence Traits)

#Neurips satellite in Paris sold out in <48 hours ! Me ad most of my colleagues are on the waiting list. Looks like the org have vastly underestimated the potential audience.

I find it so wild (and cruel) that #NeurIPS would ask for location preference for presentations before announcing results. If this is for planning, more useful to ask at submission time, if not, this could wait for a ~week. We need to be kinder to the authors, especially the first time ones.

Sometimes I get the feeling that a large component of reviewing is gently reminding folks that there are papers from before 2010.

Someone sent me an ArXiv link to a paper they thought I’d be interested in. Turns out I was reviewing the paper for Neurips.
I had to contact the Meta-reviewer and get taken off the paper.
This is a downside to ArXiv…
