Lakeside Centre, Thamesmead

#photography #monochrome #architecture #brutalism #NeuerBrutalismus

View of the Lakeside Centre, Bazalgette Way, from across South Mere in 2015, a period when the building was dilapidated and not in use. The site initially housed a concrete prefabrication factory casting elements for the first phase of Thamesmead construction. Thus the centre building was the last major permanent structure of the southern phase and opened as a social club and venue in 1971.
