Makroaufnahme einer schwarzen Ameise im Gegenlicht, die kopfüber an einem Zweig hängt. Sie hält sich mir den hinteren 4 Beinchen fest und streckt den Körper mit den vorderen 2 Beinchen und Fühlern nach unten in der freien Raum.
Der Zweig teilt das Bild in 1/3 oberhalb und 2/3 unterhalb des Zweigs.
Auf dem Zweig ist eine Blattlauskollonie zu erkennen, die gerade von weiteren, nicht ganz scharf aufgenommenen Ameisen, betreut wird. 
Der Hintergrund unterhalb der Zweigs besteht aus weichen, verschwommenem Bokeh aus vielen Lichtkreisen. Hinter der hängenden Ameise sind die Kreise hell cremefarbig, zum unteren Bildrand hin in unterschiedlichen Grüntönen. Die Hängende Ameise wirkt vor dem hellen Bokeh wie ein Scherenschnitt.
