CLEVER GIRL

#treefrog #NatureIsScary #JurassicPark

Neat juxtaposition. Predator camouflaged to disappear on the leaf, while the prey pretends to be feisty and unappealing for nibbles.

A Green Treefrog rests on a tri-lobed passionflower leaf appearing invisible to a black and yellow bee-mimic fly on an adjacent leaf. Close-up photo so the whitefly infested gardenia in the background is fuzzy & obscured but provides a darker green back drop.

This is an interesting juxtaposition of two different methods of ... should I call it camouflage? The green frog visually disappears on similarly colored and shaped foliage. The fly is easily mistaken for a more menacing and feisty critter like a bee or wasp.
