Mount Sion City of the Living God Church celebrates £20,000 of National Lottery funding to support Hatfield residents.

PRESS RELEASE | 28 September 2026
Mount Sion City of the Living God Church celebrates £20,000 of National Lottery funding to support Hatfield residents. Mount Sion City of the Living God Church (MSCLGC), a registered charity in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, is celebrating £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund for its Mount Sion Community Resilience & Wellbeing Programme.
Established in 2023 to serve its congregation and the wider community, the church brings together volunteers to support local people. Its community outreach includes free hot meals, snacks and food support, alongside practical help for families and people experiencing hardship or isolation.
The funding will support a 12-month programme to help residents stay connected, cope with everyday pressures and support one another. Open to everyone, whatever their faith or background, the programme will include:a.	Weekly wellbeing drop-in sessions offering a warm welcome and someone to talk to.
b.	Peer support groups where people facing similar challenges can share experiences and build friendships.
c.	Community meals and social activities to reduce loneliness and isolation.
d.	Signposting to local services for cost-of-living, health and family support.
e.	Activities for children, young people and families.
f.	Training to help volunteers support others with confidence.
g.	The programme aims to make support easier to find close to home, particularly for families under financial pressure, older residents living alone and people who feel isolated. Residents who would like to access support, learn more about the programme or volunteer can contact the church using the details below.
