I've just sent out the first version of the patch series for #musl making up the locale overhaul project.

It's available to read on the mailing list to subscribers and in the web-based archive at https://www.openwall.com/lists/musl/2026/09/21/2

With the locale overhaul project drawing to a conclusion in the next couple weeks, I'll be back to not having any funded projects on #musl.

I would really like to get some funding for C23 support (this is a mix of merging/revising existing patches and writing some new code) and POSIX 2024 […]

I've started a (private atm, will be rebased a few times) branch for the #musl locale project merge.

First some preliminaries. Bumping the Unicode character data from version 12 to version 17.

Only +10% size to iswalpha/iswpunct tables, +5% to upper/lower case mappings. About +20% to wcwidth […]
