#morninglistening to the Mozartean chancellor. What times! Eschenbach had (some) hair, JustusFranz hadn't gone native out east, Social Democrats were a centrist force to be reckoned with. Charming music in a charming performance.

#morninglistening to Susan Landale's complete #CésarFranck organ works on Calliope, which is the recording I instinctively turn to, when I feel like some Franck/organ. Strangely reissued on Phaia, not @ladolcevolta?

#morninglistening to #GlennGould's #JSBach recordings, namely the 1st book of the WTC. It behoofs us to remember how much this departed, at the time, from either dry faux-authenticity and overromanticized slop.

Also, there's the wonderful booklet text by TimPage.

#morninglistening to arguably the worst of #GlennGould's #JSBach recordings, vol.1 of the Toccatas. As if Gould wanted to prove that these were Bach's weakest among the keyboard sets. Closer listening sometimes makes me like this rec, then sometimes I hate it.

#morninglistening to early classical symphonies by #FriedrichSchwindl w/ l'arte del mondo & werner ehrhardt on capricciorec. The composers name belies the beauty of the music; the spirited performances, however, are no surprise. Very enjoyable, nearly "Wow".
