The war memorial (a painted wooden triptych) is by Eric Gill, according to Pevsner. He stayed in the village while working on the memorial in the chapel of New College, Oxford.

Sir William Bulmer, 1531 at St Hilda's, Hartlepool. He stands above fragmentary Saxon and Norman stonework unearthed when Walter Caroe extended the chancel in the 1920s. He was long thought to be one of the Brus or Bruce family, who had a mausoleum on this site. #MemorialsMonday #MonumentsMonday

This time Sir John’s sword and the scallop shell decoration caught my eye.

The rather bonkers Babington monument of c1538 at St Winifred's, Kingston on Soar.
It's richly covered in carving including over a hundred little people cavorting with barrels. This is a pun or rebus on the family name as a tun/ton is another name for a barrel.
