They are getting closer to emerging, the third one still has not been located.

I drew yesterday (I’ll post my progress), but the movie blanked my mind, & I went outside. While out, I realized all the 🐛 eating the milkweed made chrysalises (chrysali? No. 🤭)! I counted 17, & moved* 3 w/ dental floss!

*from the sunny spot they chose. Sun=hot!🔥

A colour photo of my trumpet vine on its trellis in closeup, showing where I attached a monarch caterpillar chrysalis to the trellis with dental floss. The trellis is a black diamond pattern, and the trumpet vine is brown vines with green leaves. This is just a 1ft section of it; the White House siding is in the background.
The chrysalis is light blue-green (Artfinity marker colour mint green!), with a black and glittery gold line 1/4 of the way down, and glittery gold spots towards the base. It is tied to the trellis with dental floss.
To move a monarch chrysalis, you need 3 inches of dental floss (run it along your fingernail so it’s not curly) and tweezers: gently pick off the silk binding the chrysalis to the wall/whatever, avoiding touching the black stem at the top (that stem is a part of their body). Get as much silk as you can (go slow!), and gently tie the dental floss around the silk. Then you can tie the floss ends to a plant in a shady area off the ground, and hopefully, the chrysalis will hatch.
*fingers crossed*
