Housing costs can be an issue in #MoCoMD (especially Inside the Beltway where we lived) BUT it’s a large county geographically, and I was very grateful for how its leadership apportioned funds districtwide AND upheld rigorous academics AND culturally-competent learning. It’s current Plight is 🥺

Same. We landed in #SS in mid-aughts. The eldest of our two was in 1st grade. #WoodlinES + adjacent daycare was/is exemplar. Next decade+ of them (4yrs apart) attending MSs + HSs was same, even as I coped w a stressful prolonged divorce (#MoCoMD is pricey re housing!) All staffs + principals were 💯

News of the sale in 2013 made me Misty-Eyed, if also glad that the DMV market offered me many #MassComm options

Every year since initial release. I was in the first round in #MoCoMD in ‘21. Forever grateful that a few days prior, #NIH+CDC pulled down the #Johsnon&Johnson release—which I had signed up for! Went w/ #Pfizer after reading all materials and haven’t contracted CVD once! (🤞🏾) Plus, I always mask up 🤣

Oh! I hope @willjawando.bsky.social is on the mend. Can confirm first-hand as a former constituent of his in #MoCoMD (where he has been a Council members for years) that he is a terrific person and public official dedicated ethical, responsible, equitable service-delivery.
