Discord convo: Me: honestly the fact that production is happening somewhere you can come and film is a bigger confidence boost for me than everything else combined. the number of "our china middleman stole our money and factory refuses to work for free" stories in kickstarter projects is wild Shoaib from Mecha: We are too paranoid to do that 🫣, I cannot be convinced. That is why we are DIYing everything. We actually send our team while the assembly is going on, so queries can be resolved faster and we can verify stuff in person. So when the first board comes out we can validate quickly and give a greenlight for the remaining batch. On the revision 7 pcb, while our team was there, we could identify on xray that some of the processors had their tiny bga balls dislodged mostly due to domestic shipping. So we could skip those components in queue. Since then we are further paranoid that we actually send our vehicle with the components instead of couriers.
