Two treasure troves on the #HistoryOfArchaeology on the #Ionian islands: the local branch of the #GeneralStateArchives (pic.1) & the Corfu Reading Society (pic.2). A trip just concluded and just starting! Happy to have discovered the 1846 #antiquities law, now part of the #MSCA-funded #MMARe project

At the Ottoman State Archives, I first started thinking about how non-standard transliterations of foreign names can affect our research. Today, at the Greek Archaeological Service Archive, I found “Σχλίεμαν.” Can you guess whom it refers to? The picture might help… 👀
