All 8 of #APOPO Angola's mine detection rats passed national accreditation and are cleared to work on minefields again. Two #ANAM officials seeing them for the first time, were impressed by how fast they search compared with manual deminers.

#APOPO Azerbaijan’s Mine Detection Rat team has had its accreditation renewed by ANAMA. 🇦🇿
All 11 rats and 6 handlers passed and are now deployed near Khanabad village in Karabakh, helping clear landmines and explosive remnants of war.

A second visit took place in a presentation format for representatives from @bmeia.gv.at and the Austrian Development Agency.
During the meeting, FSD presented the progress of #MineAction activities of the project, highlighting key #achievements and current results.
Clearing landmines saves lives. But what happens afterwards? In #Ukraine, demining is also about restoring soils, forests, farmland and livelihoods. And deciding which landscapes recover first.
Removing mines makes land safe. Good governance gives it a future.

🐕 #MineDetectionDogs play an important role in humanitarian #MineAction. They support technical survey and clearance activities by identifying contaminated areas.
When conditions allow, #dogs can search large areas #faster than the time needed for survey or manual clearance.
