Paid tutorial: estimate unseen masses with microlensing formulas, positional shifts, error propagation and observing times. Worked examples use a dark point lens, point source and no blended light; not a data reanalysis.

A long microlensing event need not mean high mass. Read Huston et al.’s OGLE/MOA and Keck analysis: 3 targets are not black holes; OB150211 is a weak candidate. Parallax, blending and priors matter.

Paid guide: derive microlensing mass, error propagation and observing times for a dark point lens, point source and no blending. Work through teaching examples inspired by Huston et al.; this is not a data reanalysis.

How does astrometry constrain lens mass? Read the OGLE/MOA and Keck analysis of four candidates. OB150211 remains a weak black-hole candidate; reference frames, parallax, blending and priors shape the inference.

Can tiny shifts in starlight reveal dark objects? Huston et al. combine brightness and position for four microlensing candidates: three are not black holes; one remains uncertain. A long event can also mean slow motion.

Concept illustration of starlight bending around a dark object in a star field. The paths are exaggerated to explain microlensing; this is not an observation.
