Working on a more free form forged sheet sample for my classes.I want to show students a far more organic way of building and shaping metal. Still work to do but I think this will end up being a nice sample, displaying wrap , fold , wrinkle, and bend. #art #metalsmith #forging #copper #organic

Dear Customer,

We are contacting you about a security incident involving the payment card you used to place an order with Cooksongold.com.

A third-party service provider used during our payment authentication process experienced unauthorised access to its systems. We have established that your full card number, expiry date and card security code (CVV) were included in the information accessed.

What you need to do
Please contact your bank or card issuer immediately and explain that your full payment card details, including the CVV, may have been compromised.

We strongly recommend asking your card issuer to:

Check your accounts for payments to Cookson Precious Metals
block the affected card;
issue you with a replacement card; and
check your account for any suspicious activity.
Use the telephone number printed on your card, shown in your official banking app or listed on your bank's official website. Do not use contact details supplied in an unexpected email, text message or telephone call.

Please also:
review your recent and forthcoming statements;
report any transaction you do not recognise to your bank immediately, including small or apparently insignificant payments;
enable transaction alerts through your banking app, if available; and
remain alert to suspicious calls, emails or text messages referring to Cooksongold, your order, this incident, a refund or compensation.
Cooksongold will never contact you unexpectedly to request your PIN, banking password, one-time passcode or complete payment card details.

What happened
A third party element within our checkout suffered an outage on 12th September 2026. This element is used to perform 3DS (3D Secure) checks to confirm you approve the payment. Generally this will involve a need for you to login to your banking application or to receive a code via SMS.

This element is used to perform 3DS (3D Secure) checks to confirm you approve the payment. Generally this will involve a need for you to login to your banking application or to receive a code via SMS.

Our third party provider confirmed on the 14th September 2026, that the reason for the outage was due to an unauthorised access into their systems and they confirmed the extent of the breach and what data was involved on 17th September 2026.

Unfortunately, the attack accessed a log that contained some of your sensitive information. The affected information relates to payments made between 1st November 2025 and 12th September 2026. The information involved was:

your full payment card number;
your card's expiry date; and
your card security code (CVV).
In addition, the name as indicated on your card and your email address was also contained in this data.

What we are doing
As soon as we became aware of the incident, we suspended the affected service/required the provider to secure its systems/began an investigation with appropriate cybersecurity specialists. We can confirm that this third party is no longer logging this sensitive information.

We are working with the third-party provider and our payment partners to understand the full circumstances and prevent further unauthorised access. We have also notified the relevant authorities and regulators where required.

We sincerely apologise for the concern and inconvenience this incident may cause. Protecting our customers information is extremely important to us, and we recognise the seriousness of what has happened.
