Huh, YouTube randomly gave me #Outland after this. That's an "inspired" pairing. 🤔

I always forget that he (Gene Jones) is in LAST STOP IN YUMA COUNTY, which seems to be a favorite 'round here.
They both have that horror element I love which is where what you're watching is just a little bit too real.
The Father from The Sacrament lives rent free after ten years.
I think the undead cannibal people were just sick and tired of Tom's monologues there at the end, so he needed to go.
This movie kinda makes me want to get a snack. 🤔👍
The Sacrament and The Invitation would be a great double feature.
Goddammit you freakin cannibal weirdos. There's a concession stand in the main lobby!
I remember when you could buy popcorn that small. Try buying that size at Regal or AMC now!
Do any of the 4 main characters have a job?
Tom is Portugese royalty.
Laura is an ex-model.
Toni is just young.
Arletty is...?
Tom is kinda domineering and rude.
Can we really not have just 90 consecutive minutes without a reminder of just how broken and stupid things are?
I don't think Laura's going to be the final girl. 😬
Laura, you seem like a smart girl. Why would you get into that creepy ass truck under the full moonlight? 🤦♂️
The father's diary voice-over, Arletty's voice-over, and the real time images all doing a dance is very noir as well.
I always love seeing that shot of the sign(s) after Laura gets out of the truck. So much to read and you can hear her shoes so long before you see her. Combined with the previous five minutes, it's like the peripheral vision test at the DMV.
Dunno if anyone needs this, but here is the alleged 4K version on YouTube.
Biggest. Fan. Ever.
Also brother-in-law of David Lynch and married to Sissy Spacek now for 52 years.
Elisha Cook Jr and Royal Dano. Just the best.
My thread for MESSIAH OF EVIL (Gloria Katz and Willard Huyck, 1973) for Folk Horror Friday.
Fun fact: MESSIAH OF EVIL has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
