Numbers uncounted, missing,
names chiselled on endless wall.
Unconditional giving
never denied that first call.
We know by heart all of their
horrific, tragic stories.
Give up now but a small prayer,
for many selfless glories.
Hardship, stray bullet and mud,
modern bustle of people.
Grateful for sacrificed blood
to stop advancing evil.
Comforted by noise of youth,
will gladden souls with their truth.
