Shall we expect Yanbian PBS also resuming switching between Rumbling on 1566 and Rumbling on 1188 kHz? 👺 #mediumwave #mwdx #USAGM

Today I tried a 5m vertical with a Sparkelec DP-666, and all that great DX was there again, often w/ surprising results, like CNR1 undermining Estonia's dominance on 1035 😬

But here's JONR ABC Radio, Osaka🇯🇵 on 1008 kHz, one of the new ones 🗼

#MWDX has been WILD & HOT this past month 🔥🔥🔥

Just yesterday & today, on my small terminated loop, I've logged 9 Japanese stations, 3 of them new!

+ lots of China, Korea, India, and ruZZian NDBs as far as Omsk, 3000km+ away.

These landmark twin towers near Prague🇨🇿 that have been Czechia's tallest structure will cease to exist in about 2 weeks 🔫

Used to carry Český Rozhlas Dvojka on 639 kHz #mediumwave @ 750kW❗ until Dec 31 2021, and Country Radio btwn Sep 2022-Mar 2024, the masts will be KABOOM'd 💣💥

And once these local MW stations get silenced, there'll be nothing left standing between this and shutting down BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio Wales and, ultimately, BBC Radio 5 Live. 🛣️🕳️💀

Amid massive bean-counting (they need to save £500,000,000 ASAP!) and cuts that I can summarize as "we cannot guarantee we'll still be broadcasting anything," the #BBC announced that its last remaining Local Radio #mediumwave services across England will close by the end of 2026 ❌
