A blue sky fades to a pale blue-green near the horizon with streaks of orange and pink made by high thin clouds. Looming above the river, a darker purple cloud, much closer, drifts in a light breeze. The rapids of the river below reflect the mix of colors, as trees stand in silent silhouette on the banks today at dawn.

I love the contrast from the "calm" water on the left and the whitewater on the right downstream of the dam in Grand Rapids. Also, check out how blue that sky is!

A blue sky that fades to light brown lies behind white clouds painted in orange light from a setting sun. In the distance a bank of pink and purple clouds rises above the tree line of the riverbank. Water, stilled by evening air, reflects the colors from above with shrubs and trees on the near bank masking the river’s edge.
