The Moon Sure is Beautiful Tonight (9/9/26)

For my New Years Resolution this year, I made it my mission to start drawing yuri. Naturally I started with the best ship, the one that got me into both yuri AND Touhou, MariAli. This is also my first major art piece in a long time not to be based on a specific game. Instead just being general Touhou art. For this drawing I experimented with dark lighting again like I did in my Great Cave Offensive drawing. I used opacity and a lot of erasing to make the lighting look dark and bluish, like a night sky should be, while still letting the moon's light reflect off of the lesbians. I gave both Marisa and Alice winter outfits, since I originally started drawing this around Valentine's. Marisa's outfit is based both on a design in Forbidden Scrollery and a very similar design in Subterranean Animism, while Alice's outfit is based on how it looks in Perfect Cherry Blossom, though I decided to keep the boots from the fighting games. The moon, depicted as a crescent here (which isn't common in Touhou I realize), and the stars shine down on them, and they are above the clouds which are depicted in a redish tint a la the extra stage of Undefined Fantastic Object. The end result is a rather wholesome piece of yuri. I hope you all enjoy. :3
