Finishing up the first day of #MAP2026 with a session with Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson about how we build places that are accessible for all. Thought-provoking perspectives of life as a wheelchair user and what it means for active places. Interesting point about car dependency & electric vehicles!

The next #MAP2026 session is on safety for women and girls, with a sobering perspective from Alison Bradshaw of TfL. Emphasising the need to consider the whole door to destination journey, including walk to/from PT. Pushing developers to include women in design, and nighttime conditions in plans.

Fascinating panel discussion led by Chris Boardman, who asks "when you arrive in a place, how do you know someone has put some thought and care into designing it?" People value trees and shade.
